If you’re looking to bring back some interesting souvenirs from your trip, look no further. Built in the 14th century, Khan el-Khalili Bazaar will offer you the ultimate authentic souk experience.

Get lost on the bazaar’s narrow streets wrapped in the aroma of spices and do some haggling – which is inevitable anyway – if you want to feel just like a local. Even if you don’t plan on buying anything, the experience in itself will be unforgettable.

Taste the local cuisine[]

All the vising and experiencing will probably have a serious impact on your appetite. Egyptian cuisine is unique, varied and incredibly delicious so you’ll definitely find something to your taste.

If there’s something you must try, that’s kushari, one of the most traditional dishes in Egypt. It’s a mix of macaroni, rice and lentils, topped with tomato sauce, garlic vinegar, chickpeas and fried onions that will keep you full for the whole day.
