The Republic of Congo or Congo Brazzaville, was a part of the present day Gabon, Chad, and the Central African Republic before they split up in 1958. Around 1880, about thirty companies received concessions from the government to develop the region. The concessions were granted mostly for collection of ivory, and for rubber and timber plantations.
The country has a varied wildlife, waterfalls and places with scenic beauty. Simple watching the people and social custom will also give a unique dimension to your visit to the place.
