Overview[]

Valkmusa National Park is a national park in the Kymenlaakso region of Finland. It was established in 1996 and covers 17 square kilometres (6.6 sq mi).

The national park comprises swamp land, extraordinarily representing in southern Finland. There are more than 30 different swamp types can be categorised in the area.

The park is known for its importance for being a resting place for migratory birds. There is a very wide range of butterfly species in the area, including many endangered species as well.

The popular attrations and activities in the park includes swamp observation and most importantly birdwatching. The park is known for being one of the favorite place for migratory birds. Apart from the birds, the park is also a home for some of rarest butterfly/moth species including Idaea muricata.
